All pottery sited here, the one with a clay figurine, a backward-facing head attached on top of a human figure with a vertical line in the center, a dancing figure, and a human figure imitating a frog, all have equally spaced small perforated holes on the rim and seem to have been used for special purposes.
It is evident the Jomon people were trying to convey certain messages through their pottery decorations, and though their spirit can be clearly felt, deciphering the meanings of most of this artwork is quite difficult for people today.
