Supposing the Jomon people made clay figurines to offer prayers to be blessed with children, and for safe births, good harvest, requiem and so forth, what they prayed to the heavens, by gathering stones, creating large arenas and placing stone rods and pillars as a group, may have been prayers of awe and reverence for Mother Nature.
